As another school year comes to a close, Phelps Mercantile, Inc. would like to reward students for their hard work. To do this we are giving free movie rentals to students who present their report card to us when renting a movie. The rewards will be:

Every year for the Oscars we ask you, our customers, to fill out a ballot making guesses as to who will win what category at the Academy Awards. The more you guess right the more free rentals you get. This year we have introduced an online version of the ballot in addition to the paper copy handed out at our store for your convenience. We have changed our store hours for the remainder of Winter and the first couple weeks of Spring. The new hours are:
Monday - Saturday: 8am - 7pm
Sunday: 10am - 4 pm

Jerry VanCamp has been working in the current Phelps Mercantile, Inc. building for 50 years now. Some people might wonder how this is possible because Phelps Mercantile, Inc. is only 8 years old. The answer is quite simple, the building used to belong to the Agway chain. Jerry had been working for Agway in the Phelps branch for 42 years when John Uvegas and Jim Cheney bought the building from Agway and turned it into Phelps Mercantile, Inc. When the purchase ocurred the Agway employees were no longer needed by Agway and were asked to work for the new Phelps Mercantile. Among the employees asked to work for the new business was Jerry VanCamp. Now Jerry is celebrating 50 years in the building and plans to stay much longer. Jerry does everything from change tires to deliver feed to the local farmers. Phelps Mercantile would like to thank Jerry for the 42 years of experience and customer connections he brought with him to the new store. We are proud to have him on our staff at Phelps Mercantile, Inc. and look forward to celebrating 50 years with many sales and specials you can only find for events like this!
